  1. YZU Scholarship

    Those students who are non-citizens of ROC could apply for the tuition waiver and other academic expenses deduction in the first year. For overseas Chinese students, Yuan Ze offers NT$30,000 of tuition fee deduction in the first year. Please visit our English website for more detail information. http://www.yzu.edu.tw/

    Criteria of Eligibility and Financial Awards:

    Freshmen (the 1st year)

    (1)Foreign student: Applicants can apply for the first-year full tuition fees waiver (exclusive of national health insurance fee).

    (2)Overseas Chinese student: Applicants can apply for a special discount on tuition fees by offering NT$30,000 off each semester for each student through the recommendation by their individual major units.

    (3)All the above-mentioned applicants who apply for living on-campus will be entitled to free accommodation in dormitories.

     

    Current Students (the 2nd, 3rd and 4th year)

    (1)Undergraduate applicants holding foreign nationality who have completed at least two semesters of study, taking sufficient number of credit within the requirements of the credit policy of YZU, with an average score of 65 or higher for their academic records and that of 80 or higher for their conduct in the previous two semesters, can apply for one-year full tuition fees waiver (exclusive of national health insurance fee) through the recommendation by their individual major units.

    (2)Graduate applicants holding foreign nationality who have completed at least two semesters of study, taking 6 credits or more each semester, with an average score of 75 or higher for their academic records and that of 80 or higher for their conduct in the previous two semesters, can apply for one-year full tuition fees waiver (exclusive of national health insurance fee) through the recommendation by their individual major units. Graduate students in a doctoral program who are writing their thesis and have not completed the course requirements of taking 6 credits or more  may apply for it by submitting a letter of recommendation by their advisor along with a thesis proposal instead. This type of application will be considered on a one-time basis for each graduate student.

    (3)Undergraduate applicants having overseas Chinese status who have completed at least two semesters of study, taking sufficient number of credit within the requirements of the credit policy of YZU, with an average score of 65 or higher for their academic records and that of 80 or higher for their conduct in the previous two semesters, can apply for a special discount on tuition fees by offering NT$60,000 off each year for each student through the recommendation by their individual major units.

    (4)Graduate applicants having overseas Chinese status who have completed at least two semesters of study, taking 6 credits or more each semester, with an average score of 75 or higher for their academic records and that of 80 or higher for their conduct in the previous two semesters, can apply for a special discount on tuition fees by offering NT$60,000 off each year for each student through the recommendation by their individual major units. Graduate students in a doctoral program who are writing their thesis and have not completed the course requirements of taking 6 credits or more may apply for it by submitting a letter of recommendation by their advisor along with a thesis proposal instead. This type of application will be considered on a one-time basis for each graduate student. 

    (5)All the above-mentioned applicants who apply for living on-campus will be entitled to free accommodation in dormitories.

     

    Those who have received scholarships/grants from R.O.C. government agencies are not allowed to re-apply for this scholarship again. The maximum length of time a student can receive the scholarship is four academic years for undergraduate students, two academic years for graduate students in master’s programs and three academic years for graduate students in doctoral programs, which is exclusive of the prolong time beyond a regular length of study.

     

    Taiwan Scholarship
