Qualification
  1. This application for admission is applied to foreign students who do not have ROC nationality and overseas ROC status according to the Article 2 of Law of Nationality. If you have ROC nationality but have not renounced for eight years according to Ministry of the Interior, you are not entitled to apply for YZU. (The eight-year renouncement depends on the starting date of the semester.)
  2. Note: According to the Article 2 of Law of Nationality, a person who meets one of the following requirements the nationality of the Republic of China:

    1. A person whose father or mother was, at the time of his (her) birth, a citizen of the Republic of China.
    2. A person born after the death of his (her) father or mother who was, at the time of his (her) death, a citizen of the Republic of China.
    3. A person born in the territory of the Republic of China and whose parents are born unknown or are stateless.
    4. A naturalized person.

  3. Foreign citizens recommended to Taiwan for study by foreign governments, institutions, schools, cultural and educational organizations through cultural cooperation agreements without meeting the regulation stipulated above.

  5. The diploma of the applicant should be validated by Ministry of Education of ROC. Foreign students with a high school diploma are eligible to apply for undergraduate studies at YZU; bachelor’s degree for Master program; Master’s degree for PhD program.

  7. Foreign students completed Bachelor’s Degree or above in Taiwan and intending to proceed to Master’s Program or above could follow the regulations as foreign students. Foreign students who have completed the courses and desire to continue the education in Taiwan could follow the admission procedures as home students.
  8. Foreign students who graduate from a school for foreign residents located in the Republic of China, or from a bilingual division (program) affiliated with a senior high school in the Republic of China, may use the graduation certificate received from such a school in applying pursuant to the provisions of the preceding Article for admission to the University without meeting the regulation stipulated above.
  9. Foreign students who have been expelled by any university or college in the Republic of China are not eligible to re-apply for admission under this way.
  10. Foreign students are not qualified to apply for Two-year program as undergraduate students and Master’s program with a full-time job. Those who get ARC, permanent residence permit, or applied for international courses approbated by the Ministry of Education do not need to meet this requirement.
  11. Note: According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Burmese student visa should be accepted by following requirements:

    1. Applicants should obtain full scholarship issued by original school or a statement of financial support, and the score of TOEFL ITP must be over 500 points (TOEFL CBT must be over 173 points).
    2. Visa must be valid for at least three years.
